texas football stats

Texas longhorn’s football statistics in this 2010 season. Texas started the season vs. rice, they won 34-17. After falling behind 3-0, Texas broke off for 24 consecutive points in the second quarter to take a three touchdown lead.  A 72-yard drive with a 26-yard Justin Tucker field goal to extend the lead to 34-10 in the fourth quarter brought Texas to their first win of the season. Texas vs. Wyoming. Garrett Gilbert passed for 222 yards and a touchdown and No. 5 Texas beat Wyoming 34-7. Gilbert was 22 of 35 with a 45-yard touchdown to freshman receiver Mike Davis in the second quarter. Fozzy Whittaker scored on a 39-yard run. Wyoming (1-1) played just six days after the death of freshman linebacker Ruben Narcisse, who was killed in a car accident in Colorado on Monday. The Cowboys wore decals with his initials and safety Shamiel Gary wore Narcisse's No. 12 to honor him Saturday night. A two field goal and three punt drive, before Carta-Samuels scampered 18-yards for a touchdown and a 7-6 Wyoming lead. The Longhorns needed just four plays to respond and Whittaker broke four tackles on his touchdown run up the middle. He smashed through two defenders near the line of scrimmage and shook two more downfield before diving into the end zone. Lanky Davis spun to his right and outran the defender over the next 30 yards to put Texas up 20-7.In the third quarter, Gilbert made a move worthy of Colt McCoy--if not quite Vince Young--when he scrambled to avoid a rush and hopped over a tackler for an 11-yard gain. The play came on a third down in an 11-play drive that Cody Johnson finished with a 2-yard touchdown. Texas won with a head turning 34-7 victory. Texas vs. Texas tech. Garrett Gilbert threw for two touchdowns and 227 yards to lead No. 6 Texas past Texas Tech 24-14. Texas put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter after draining more than nine minutes off the clock. The 22-play drive included a risky and successful fake punt on fourth-and-1 on its own 29. Gilbert capped the march with a 1-yard pass to Barrett Matthews to give the Horns a 24-14 lead with 9:26 left. Gilbert finished 21 of 36 with three interceptions. No. 7 Longhorns upset by UCLA, 34-12.  Jonathan Franklin rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown Saturday as UCLA defeated No. 7 Texas 34-12. THERE IS MORE TO COME IN MY NEXT BLOG SO STAY TUNED.
